When we did the coding on Friday I thought that it was surprisingly very interesting. I didn't think that I would enjoy it, but I found it to be fun! It was interesting and it tested your skills. I think that there is a push for coding because everything is going electronic, jobs need more people who know how to run the computers! The demand is so high for these types of jobs that if you know what you're doing you will be set for life. Yes i did sign the pledge because I do believe that students should learn how to code and learn more about it! Coding to me isn't easy, but if you learn it and understand it you will be able to do great things with it!

Nelson Mandela was such an important person not only to the African Americans, but to everyone else because he fought for what was right for everyone. Mandela is and always will be a role model, his fight for racial injustice made everyone have hopes that people one day would all be equal and he was right! Nelson Mandela was the first black president of South Africa he became famous for his fight against bad government and racial injustice. He went to prison for 27 years for trying to overthrow the pro-apartheid government. An apartheid government is a government based on racial segregation, when Mandela was president his whole focus was getting rid of the apartheid government, by doing this we was getting rid of poverty, racism, and inequality. Mandela gained international acclaim for his activism, he recieved more than 250 honors, including a Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. Mandela is often described as "The Father of the Nation." I believe that it is important to know about such amazing figures of our past, Nelson Mandela was a hero.

I have yet to watch the movie The Internship, but from what I have heard from everyone else that has watched it I was told it's a great movie. Not only is it funny, but it tells a story. Googliness means a lot of things and reading all of them I believe that I have what it takes to be "googley" there are about 12 different things that categorize you to be "googley" and reading them I believe I have all of the Characteristics. When I read the description I don't just think of myself, but of everyone in my family. All of my family members strive to be excellent and have a great sense of humor, Two of the qualities that it takes to be "googley", but that's not just it. I believe that we have everything that it takes to be "googley".

On November 22nd,1963 president John F. Kennedy was assassinated when he was shot by a sniper while riding in a motorcade through downtown Dallas. This event happened 50 years ago and is still remembered to this day. I would believe that people who were around when this happened would remember where they were because this was such a shocking event! It is similar to the event of 9/11 because no one saw it coming, everyone loved JFK. If people had the social media that we have now, there might have been a better reaction to what had happened. If people had facebook or twitter back then , everyone would have known about it right when it happened! I don't think that today's technology would have had any effect on the completion of the assassination!

I believe that gaming in education could have its pro's and con's. Gaming could help students because of it being something fun and entertaining, like studying. If you could play games to help you study I believe that kids would actually take the time to study if they knew that it would be something fun to do! Technology is becoming such an important factor in our every day lives that it would be so easy for me to study through gaming on my ipad. Some of the con's about gaming would be the fact that no one would pay attention to the material that they are studying, they would just be playing the game. Students might also bring up the fact that if they are allowed to play games when they're studying, why can't they play games all the time even if they have nothing to do about the topic you are studying.

Google cars are cars that automatically drive themselves. They can drive, stop, turn, pretty much do anything that you tell them to do! They sense when cars and people are around them. I think that Google cars could be good and bad. Cars that drive themselves are more aware of their surroundings and they aren't worried about the radio or talking on the phone, but in the future cars that drive themselves might eventually replace people. What will happen to truck drivers or people that have to travel for a living? They won't be necessary anymore, they'll be replaced! So i'm not sure if Google cars will be a good thing or a bad thing, but than again what about price? If these cars are going to cost $300,000 who's going to be able to afford that? What about the cost of insurance? You tell me.

Today social media is used in a different way than it was intended to be used when it was designed. To think about technology and how much different it is when it is in your hands at every minute of the day. If you were to unblock facebook, twitter, instagram or any other social media websites I think that you would have some students that would respect the rules given and than you would have other students who would do something wrong and ruin it for everyone. I think that if you were to talk to all of the students before you handed them their ipads and told them that there would be a consequence for everyone if something bad were to happen on their social media websites. Having facebook and all of your social media websites available during the day kids would be more excited about learning with their new technology. If an incident were to happen involving social media and students about bullying there should be a consequence for that student.

A lot of people don't pay attention to tests, especially big ones like the ACT. I think that the ACT and Plan test should be taken more seriously and I believe that ALL of the teachers should help the students prepare for the tests. A couple weeks in advance you should go online and start practicing for the ACT, you can't just show up the day of the test and expect to get a good score, you need time to prepare. There are a ton of resources online, including sample test questions. You should prepare for the ACT, to get into college a lot of colleges look at your ACT score and they look at every part of your test. I think that if you prepare for the ACT you'll get a better score than if you don't prepare for it. I think that reading over the materials that they give you online will give you an idea of what the actual test will be like.

I think that social media plays a huge roll in our community. A lot of the things on TV and the radio are celebrity's just pulling publicity stunts and I for one think it's the most annoying thing ever. I don't want to hear about all of the stupid things that you're doing to try and get attention. Social media to me is all publicity stunts, do you ever hear about the good things that celebrity's do? No, all you hear about is the drama. Facebook is a HUGE social website, anyone can share pictures, statuses, and pretty much whatever they feel like. Facebook to me plays a huge roll in getting and obtaining a job, say you decide one night to do something stupid and go out to a party. That party you just went to I can guarantee you will more than likely see "drunk" pictures of yourself on Facebook. How does that look to big businesses that are looking at your resume? Even when you delete those pictures of yourself business owners can still find it with the right technology. I think that having your own website is a great way for employers to see what you are involved in and how you spend your time. Employers can find out anything about you from your own website. I for one have put a lot of time and effort into my website to make it look presentable, but more importantly make it something of my own that resembles myself. I think that I could do a lot more to make the "best me" on all my social media networks. I hope to one day have a job where all of my qualities can be shown through my work and that I will be able to put the things I love about my work online for people to see.

This class is teaching me a lot of things that I thought I knew about, but I really didn't. Multimedia Applications is a chance for me to work on projects that interest me. I'm hoping that in this course I learn things that I can take with me and apply in college and the work industry after I graduate. I hope to succeed and do well in this class, I will settle for nothing less than what I deserve. I'm the type of person that won't turn in a project until I know that it is to my standards. My goals for every class are pretty much the same, I think that if I apply myself and I work hard that good things will happen. If I slack off and don't do my work then I will get what I deserve, but that won't happen because that's not the type of person I am. My intended grade for this semester is to be an A, if it's not than I will know that I didn't work as hard as I know I can. Once I am committed to something, I'm all in. I can't stand when someone makes a commitment and then doesn't do anything about it. My theory is that if you don't succeed in what you do, you didn't try hard enough because anything is possible if you believe it is.
